Das Erkennen mimisch kodierter Basisemotionen vor und nach dem Alkoholentzug
LicenseStandard (Fassung vom 01.10.2008)
The present study investigated emotional facial expression decoding in alcoholics before and after detoxification. Twenty-five volunteers matched for age and sex were compared with twenty-five alcoholics at the outset and at the end of the detoxification. The participants performed one computer test consisting of a presentation of photographs of faces (happiness, sadness, fear, anger, disgust, surprise) and reaction times were also recorded. Afterwards they filled in several questionnaires, for example Beck Depression Inventar. Results indicate that alcoholics make more errors in their decoding before and after detoxification, but they improved. Only before the detoxification the volunteers were faster in their reaction times.
