AbstractNumerical investigations of solid particle deposition in turbulent particle-laden flow have been carried out by using an Euler-Lagrange approach. The cyclic large-eddy simulations of five different geometries of multiple-started helically rib-roughened pipes have been performed for a Reynolds number of Re=16000. The impact of the pipe geometry on the particle deposition is shown by comparing the simulation results of the deposition velocity u_d^+ for different particle relaxation times τ_p^+ and geometric parameters. Simulation pressure results are used to further assess the pipe geometries in terms of pressure loss.dc.description.abstract
