AbstractThe thesis investigates the interaction of charge quanta with photonic and phononic degrees of freedom in mesoscopic systems. The first part of the work focuses on the interaction of charge quanta tunneling through a tunnel-junction with electromagnetic environments. The second part highlights the interaction of light and matter in a cavity plus Josephson-junction hybrid system.  The main purpose of this thesis is to find ways to describe the mentioned phenomena. The results found in the work at hand can therefore be used as starting points for further research.dc.description.abstract
