AbstractA 5-year, retrospective study using records of 1081 patients admitted to the trauma emergency room at a University Hospital (1) to investigate the occurrence of tracheal tube mal-positioning after emergency intubation in both the inpatient and outpatient settings, using chest radiographs and CT scans in the trauma emergency room and (2) to evaluate the frequency, placement site, success and misplacement rates, the need for intervention on tube thoracostomies (TT), and complications with endotracheal intubation associated with TT in the prehospital setting.dc.description.abstract
