In this study the uptake of positron emitting thymidine analogue 18F-Fluorothymidin (18F-FLT) was positively correlated with histologic determined proliferation index (Ki-67) in a patient study. In the second part, it was evaluated that anti-proliferative therapies translate into an early decline of 18F-FLT uptake in a mouse model. Therefore 18F-FLT is a promising tracer for early prediction of therapy response and warrants further investigation.
