AbstractIn daily clinical routine, run over accidents have been recognized to cause a variety of severe injuries. Data of 85 patients being run over by a vehicle were evaluated concerning age, gender, vehicle running over, patterns of injuries and severity of injuries. Subsequently the Polytrauma outcome Chart (DGU) was used to evaluate the long term outcome. Severe trauma especially to the legs was seen in combination with singnificant soft tissue trauma. In terms of quality of life, significant restrictions could be recognized compared to a healthy German population.dc.description.abstract
