Neue Copolymerarchitekturen durch metallocenkatalysierte Olefinpolymerisation

The dissertation deals with the synthesis of new olefin-copolymers with homogeneous metallocene catalysts. These polymers have unique microstructures and therefore unique properties. During the polymerization process the insertion of the higher alpha-olefin is steered by the presence of the ethylene monomer resulting in copolymers with isolated olefin-units. The key is to steer the polymerization kinetic either by sterical or by electronical influences from the ligands of the catalysts. Beside well known asymmetric ansa-metallocenes a series of unbridged bis-indenyl metallocenes have been synthesized and used for the catalysis. The two isomers of the unbridged complexes have been separated and analysed by NMR-spectroscopy and X-ray-analysis. The substitution pattern of the ligand as well as the symmetry of the complex influences the polymerization kinetic resulting in polymers with different microstructures.
