AbstractWithin the presented work polymeric nanocapsules with encapsulated photo- and azoinitiators were synthesized by a miniemulsion process. Their release rates were measured by diffusion as well as by disruption of the polymer shell. In addition, polymeric hybrid particles with encapsulated inorganic (X-ray impermeable) materials were synthesized, whose polymer surface could be functionalized by NH2-groups and double bonds, enabling their use as pre-cursors for further reactions. All synthesized particles can be applied as new components in polymeric dental fillings to improve their material properties with particular importance on storage stability, shrinkage and X-ray impermeability.dc.description.abstract
